I just signed up for American Standard Online. They claim that you pay a fee for $199.00 for a title search to ensure it is a clear title. They also claim that the Banks have contacted them to find new homeowners to take over other peoples Mortgage loans that have gone into default. I was told that they would handle everything once you find a property. However, you cannot see the properties. You can only drive by and it turns out the homeowners are not aware of this company trying to find new homeowners to take their mortgage. They tell you that you will receive a full refund within 90 days if you do not find a property. However, you cannot get a refund unless you are denied at least 5 times but the process takes from 90 to 120 days which is passed your refund time. This is a total scam. Charging you 199.00 for listings of foreclosures in your area that are public record, and then want you to contact the homeowner to convince them to let you take the property/mortgage over. It is impossible to get a straight answer from them. They are listing continuous properties on craigslist but have no idea about the properties you are calling on. The Sales staff/Customer Service agents out right lie and will say anything to get you to sign up. There is no truth to what they say. The Bank has not contacted them nor have the Homeowners agreed to this process. They also say they have been in business for 10 years, but I cannot locate any type of business license on record.
