Complaint / Review
Cross Country Bank
Member of the Pass the Loot Club (PTL)

I had received a credit card from Cross Countyr Bank with a credit line of three hundred dollars. I used the card one time for about two hundred and seventy five dollars from an ATM machine to pay for band fees for my daughter. I received a statement stating that the payments were around sixty nine dollars. I made a couple of payments and stop for a few months because I was receiving a statement every week.

I spoke with one of their representatives and was given a payoff amount. I made the payment amount given and did not hear from them for about a year. I had thought that the card was paid off. I was told that I had an interest balance over four hundred dollars. I receive nine to ten calls a day seven days a week speaking to several different people. Each time who never seem to know what had been discussed with the previous person. The representative have told me at this time that the fees are over one thousand dollrs.

I finally had enough and set up payment arrangements with Cross Country Bank to draft thirty five dollars a month from my checking account. They have drafted a few payments but chrage sixty in fees every billing cycle. I was told that the interest fees would stop once I set up payment arrangements but they have not. I still get numerous calls a day starting around eight in the morning until after nine at night. I can not afford to pay any more than what has been arranged, but I can not find anyone in there business that has a record of the payoff documentation. I was told that their data base only lets them check back for about a six month time span.

I have written to the better business buearu and spoken with Cross Country Banks' customer service people. I cannot find my receipt of the final payment due to the time span. I need some help in resolving this problem. I cannot afford a lawyer and I am tired of the constant calls. My children have even gotten tired. When I am not home they just hang up when one of the representatives call, because they are questioned as to who they are, their ages, where am I, when will I be home, can they give them my work number etc.

Could someone please help me with this situation. I have constant migraines now due to the harassment and hesitant to answer my own phone, even on Sunday. I have paid more than what was used on the card plus what should be adaquate interest fees.
