Imperial Benefits
Ripoff, lied, scammed, made false promises

In November, I received a phone call from a representative of Imperial Benefits telling me I had been approved to received a VISA or MasterCard with a $3000.00 limit. I had less than great credit and needed access to extra money to have major repairs done on my 10 year old car! All I had to do was to secure the card with a $279.00 check. After varifying this information with a person named Dale Huntley (CD355), I agreed to have the money taken out of my checking account by electronic transfer on November 19.

On December 19, I received a packet containing several papers and a letter that said I would be receiving a MasterCard within 25 business days. The letter also stated that I was to complete and sign an application that was enclosed in the packet. I looked and looked and looked. There was no application in the packet. Confused, I called Imperial and was told that the application must have been omitted in error. I was told that one would be faxed to me. Needless to say, I never received the fax. Upon a subsequent conversation with a manager named Steve, I was assured that an application would be mailed to me. I waited one week. Then I called Steve back. He told me that he had checked with Customer Service and had been assured that the application had been mailed. I waited another week. Still no application. I began calling Steve regularly—3-4 times per week.

In early January I told Steve I wanted a refund of my money. He instructed me to submit a letter and return the papers contained in the packet. I made copies of the papers and returned the orginals with a letter dated January 24.

Today is February 20, and I have yet to receive a credit card or my refund. I called Imperial Benefits to check on the status of my refund and was told that my request had been denied because it was made after a 30 day period! What 30 day period! I only want a refund because I never received the promised product!

Imperial Benefits needs to pay up!!!
