Bank of America Screwed Me Ove

I've been a loyal customer with Bank of America for 25 years, always paying them on time and never once late on a payment. My wife and I recently moved to another state due to bad economic conditions. I charged a lot of my credit card towards moving expenses which added up to several thousand dollars. Meanwhile, I continued to make the payments monthly, (always on time). We just recently sold our house in FL and took a loss of over 100 thousand. Needless to say, we didn't make much on our house. But, out of good faith, I paid Bank of America $2500 towards the balance thinking that this would lower my monthly payment and also keep my credit good which it has always been.

Also, I thought it free up some money and allow us to be able to use the card again only in case of emergency if we needed to. Boy, was I ever stupid! These bastards have truly taken advantage of me. About one month after I sent them the $2500 payment, I received a letter in the mail stating that they were going to lower my credit amount by $1,000 irregardless of the fact that I paid them a large chunk of money. Now I've been receiving harassing phone calls about making the monthly payment. I've talked to several reps from BOA and no one seems to offer any kind of assistance. Now, I could kick myself for paying them the $2500, when my wife and I really need it now as we both have still not found jobs. I've always tried to do what's right and pay my bills, and my credit has been in the 800's, but because these people have screwed over me so badly, I swear I'll file bankruptcy first before I give them another penny.
