David Brin contacted our company on 04/11 with an offer of having us EXCLUSIVELY in a magazine called "HOTEL EMPLOYEES REFERRAL", that targets Casino Employees. He said that the ad would run for 3 issues and that he has a great rate for us. After meeting with the Doctor of our Practice. He informed her of the special and she wroate a check to him of $690.
He stated that she would have a proof in a few weeks. We called at the end of April, and he stated that the ad would be ready in a week. I called back on May 2nd and lefta message, he called back and stated that we would have the proof on May 9th. That his designer has several projects to work on and that we will be able to approve the proof before it goes to print. We found out through another company (that was ripped off), the name of the designer is Martin Sullivan.
I let the doctor know and she stated that is not was she was promised and asked me to cancel the project. I called David Brin and informed him of the doctor's decision and he started to increase the volume in his voice, saying things like "What did I do wrong?" and "There is no need to cancel, the project is almost done". I explained to him that we did not want to move forward and that we wanted the money back. He got even more irated and started screaming at me. I told him that I would have the doctor speak with him directly.
When the doctor called him back and repeated the request to him, he convinced her tat he would have the proof on Friday, May 13th. This did not happen. I tried calling him on May 16th and the 17th, all I got was his voice mail. The doctor and I left serveral messages on the phone numbers listed on the contract that was written in a faded orange marker: 702-771-0372 & 702-594-8516. After researching David Brin's name as well as the names of the company Western Publishing and the magazine Hotel Employee Referrals, I found several businesses that he has scammed out of hundreds as well as thousands of dollars. This man needs to be stopped, he clearly cannot be trusted and is nothing but a con artist. We have learned from this and will take the necessary action needed against him and to create a better screening process when dealing with outside vendors.
