On the morning of 7/11 I purchased 80 bonds thinking I was getting a great price. Within minutes, I watched my account reflect the bonds in my possession, the money spent, and my new account balance. A few hours later, noting the market price, I decided to sell them. About 15 minutes after that, my account shows the bonds gone and my account value down about $70K. Not sold, gone. I immediately called up and was told the original price on the bond was a mistake, and they backed out of the transaction. Do not count your chickens even after they hatch at TD Ameritrade. Will TD Ameritrade allow ME to back out of my next losing trade? And how long do you really "have" anything in your "account?"
