Meritech Mortgage Co. Saxon Meritech Steals Home From Mom and Kids

I purchased my home on Zanja View in Mentone, Ca in December with Meritech serving as agents for Chase Bank of Texas. There was at that time an existing tax lien against the property, which was to be paid at the end of escrow. That apparently did not happen, and when Meritech was sent the tax bill, instead of contacting their own tax department or myself they paid this bill (September).

For three months (100 days) I was in constant contact with Meritech trying to find out why they were refusing my payment and telling me only that my tax liability had increased but no one could tell me why.

When the account finally went to the litigation department I was finally told what had occurred and why. It took me only 6 working days to contact National Title in California and have them cut a check to reimburse Meritech for the taxes and the late fees. However, instead of having fixed the problem, I was informed in January that because of the previous problem my homeowners insurance had no been paid from my impound account.

Mind you we are talking about so many phone calls that I was becoming insane with the inability of this company to service this account in a professional manner. I then began looking into refinancing to remove myself from this unprofessional atmosphere, only to be told until my mortgage company was able to straighten out the mess I could not do this.

In January and February there were over 10 phone calls with Meritech (Saxon) trying to get them to straighten out the insurance issue as they were refusing my payments. My homeowners insurance with State Farm in Yucaipa, Ca was $236.00 per year, but with Meritech it was 1280.00 per year.

My contention was they were responsible for making the payment, and they were committing fraud by stating I had allowed the policy to lapse. This went on until September when they told me they were going to foreclose on my property if I did not give into them. I wire transferred to them $9814.48, and then mailed them the follow up check for $3370.55. Meritech/Saxon returned this check to me, on November 2.

I made several phone calls to them leaving messages, and being told that someone will get back to me. On December 1 I came home to find that they had in fact sold my home at foreclosure. Today, we went to court in reference to this and the new owners, and the judge in Redlands, Ca. After having looked at all the evidence advised me to contact a lawyer, as he found several rules of law that had not been followed in the case my Meritech/Saxon and their representative Attorney Equity. I also want this on record with your organization, as what was done to me was criminal.

My family and I are now homeless, and this company is now lying about how much this house sold for at foreclosure. According to paperwork presented in court today Pacifica paid over $134 thousand for this property, however, according to Saxon they only paid $108 thousand. That is a discrepancy of over 26 thousand dollars that is unaccounted for. Where did it go, and who has profited by this crime perpetrated against my family.

To add to this insult I lost my job over this as in the high tech industry, when you have something like this happen, you become a risk for selling of secrets. If this is not a crime then it should be.
