I received a mailing from someone today calling themselves "D.E.S." from the same address, and nowhere in this mailing do they call themselves Halifax Communications.
No contact name is in the letter. No email address. No phone number. They ask for varying amounts, and for a really desperate person that means $195.
It's clearly a scam when you have to pay money to work a job.
My mailing consisted of two pieces of paper. One was pink 8.5 x 14. The other is green 8.5 x 11.
The information in this mailer also says that postage is free (paid by them), but if you look closer, you receive "free postage reimbursement forms". Yeah, the forms are free and most likely completely useless—It is my impression you also get stuck with the postage not being reimbursed as promised.
After you're done working with their catalogs, they also want you to mail them back to them. To who? There is no contact name. A PO Box? Some shipping companies to my understanding will not ship to a PO Box, and on top of it all, why in the world would anybody want to ship items to a PO Box when those items represent a paycheck? Besides, who the heck is going to process the paychecks? These bozos don't give you their full identity.
The best part of this scam is where they tell a desperate person that they can get some of their pay in advance.
I am glad I was not suckered into this one.
