They are misleading and cheating homeowners

We hired Kristy/Consumer Advocacy group after a 2 town hall type meeting our CPA friend's firm put together. The meeting was very information. Kristy Sinsara and Bob Massey spoke and it was quite informative. Kristy had her Consumer Advocacy Group staff there taking appointments for homeowners. I spoke to a staff member after the meeting about our situation — we were current and always had been, but wanted to see if a refinance for a rate reduction was possible. We were assured it was and schedule an appointment with Kristy for that week. We hired Kristy in 2 and were told it could take 2-3 months, but to be patient. I wish. It's 10 months later and the worst part is that I found out Kristy and her firm were breaking the law doing loan modifications without the proper licensing and bond posted with the state.

I emailed my contact there 2 weeks ago for a refund of the fees I paid ($500) and for them to send a letter to Bank of America to let them know I have terminated their services and they no longer represent me. Of course I've heard nothing back, but this isn't unusual — I think they're hoping I forget I even hired and paid them. But, I won't. I will take this to another level to have the money I paid refunded because Kristy knew she was committing criminal actions when she took our funds in the first place.
