I have been trying for over a year for a loan modification thru GMAC Mortgage. They even set me up on forbearance pymts for 6 months of which i paid them all on. Or ahead of the due date. I was told that during the forebearance process they would be working on a modification. At the end of the 6months of pymts they informed me that I would have to RE-Send all the documents again. And that if the loan was'nt brought CURRENT. That foreclosure proceedings would begin. They refused pymts. And after submitting the modification paperwork a total of 4 seperate times... They finally said the modification was approved... However. My pymt went UP! I could no longer afford the original pymt. Let alone a HIGHER ONE! Property is now valued over 50k LESS... But GMAC OBVIOUSLY never intended on helping me to begin with. I now. After 7 years of ownership am FORCED to move out. Are there not laws to protect home owners..?
