Company sent me a notification stating that it was the second one that was sent regarding foreclosure stimulus update. Spouse saw it and told me to call. Supposedly this company had info that we were behind on our mortgage payments and played on my defenses with such information.
Talked to Chris Kakarolis, he asked for information regarding how many months behind on mortgage, monthly income, monthly expenses, (luckily we have no credit cards - so no numbers were available), and put me on hold to supposedly put me in his underwriting system to see if I qualified for their program. Came back with the fee amount because I had qualified and told me that an email would be forthcoming once fee had been paid.
Luckily for me, I have to double check this with spouse first. No personal information was given, thank goodness! How do these people get mortgage information that is supposed to be between people and their mortgage companies? In economic times like these, these types of companies should have their behinds set on fire for playing on the misfortunes of others.
