I Payment Forgery, Relentless Pursuit of Victims

ICON Payment Solutions uses call center telemarketers to set appointments. The pitch sounds legitimate. They target small business people; the name ICON is not mentioned. ICON's telemarketers actually got me to listen to two presentations, from different salesman, on two occasions one year apart. On the first, the pitch was so strange I rejected it out of hand: ICON wanted to charge me $300 up front to do my processing if I would not purchase or lease their equipment. The second pitch was more nuanced. I approved terms and signed a document from which someone at ICON lifted my signature and reproduced it three times on two other documents I never saw much less agreed to. The company debited my bank account before I connected my credit card machine into their system. The amounts they took were double what was promised and they refused or were slow to reimburse my bank account. Finally I requested they cease. A month later the company debited $350 for "early cancellation". They produced two documents they had forged my name onto. I am fortunate that I was able to catch them. After some delay they reimbursed all the money.
