My wife recently started working for NYL and has endured a fair amount of sexual harassment there (in my opinion). One senior agent sent her a message offering to kiss her neck. Another guy (her supervisor) kept trying to get her to meet him out for drinks late at night and suggested that she would have to take him home because he was too drunk to drive. He's always too drunk to drive but that has never stopped him before. She has to travel out of town with him but he hides it from his wife. My wife didn't do anything to help the situation by engaging in this behavior so she and I had our share of arguments over it. The managing partner wanted to meet with me and put me in my place. He told me that I should apologize to her and while I was at it I should also apologize to her supervisor. What??? He also told me that as long as my wife was coming home at night that I shouldn't be concerned with what she was doing while she was away. He said that I needed to back off and give her some space. What??? He also told me that I didn't know my wife very well because she liked this kind of stuff and it made her a better sales agent. I could go on with more, but basically this office is a cesspool and the guys that work there are a bunch of creeps. Are all insurance companies like this? This is going to wreck our marriage.
