We have been working unscucessfully with Wachovia Mortgage since Aug. 2009. They were just bought out by Wells fargo 3/20/10. We had been told for over 6 months at the begining of 2009 we couldn't do anything becasue of the by-out until it was further along. We are on our 5th attempt to go through the HARP program for our home mortgage. Because of the economy we have fallen into a financial crisis as others have done. We have tried to hang on with our very small business by relying on credit cards hoping the economy would pick up. It has not. Wachovia has put us off for many months before they would even discuss modifying our home loan. We have kept records of our calls, and folders 5 full of documents and notes, of our staying in contact with them. They have lied, mislead us, given us false and wrong information and flat out told us more than once they have been deceptive. They claim to always loose our papers, faxes etc. Many, many times. They continue to have our modification canceled because they say we did not many times provide the information/documents which we have proof we did, certified mail and faxes confirming they received over and over. But they never say this over the phone or tell us they need anything else they send out ANOTHER letter to say sorry you've expired you didn't provide us with what we needed AGAIN. We were told not to pay our mortgage payments so we would qualify but later told they were going to foreclose due to non payments, but we were told this so we would qualify for the modification program. Again we are trying our 5th time to provide everything they need but they always have an additional excuse or lie of something WE did not do, which is untrue. We call in at least once a week even though they say we don't need too. We KNOW they just want to take our home. Its value is way down from what we mortgaged but they want it we can tell. They are very very difficult to work with. I have cried many many nights just trying to provide them with more and more and more, its never enough. Then they also say they send us letters or call us. Well the only letters we received are when they say we didn't provide them with something and they are cancelling us for non-compliance of providing them with documentation in a certain time frame. We have received one phone call on the modification only because we gave them a phone number no one can miss calls so they wouldn't have an excuse to say they couldn't reach us like they continually do. They continually say they did not receive faxes 20 to 24 pages even though I fax them over and over and I have confirmation pages. Its always something and no one ever knows what the HARP programs is or is about. Very uninformed staff who don't have a clue what they are doing. Very very hurtful as a tax payer that at a time when we are barely above loosing everything like so many unfortunate others that as we play by the rules and go out of our way to provide everything requested we are treated so very very poorly. We bailed the banks out of their mess and this is how we are paid back, it just doesn't seem right. Its not as if we are asking for a handout or charity we did not ask for the economy to go downhill, my husband and I have been hard workers throughout our lives and this is the way we are treated at a time when everyone is just trying to survive and help each other to get by.
