After having difficulty getting a loan to buy-out my leased vehicle, I went on-line for assistance.
I received a call from Noah Fergusen from Howard & Clark Financial, stating that they would extend an $11,000 loan through their "private" investors. I signed a faxed contract, and was told that I needed to "wire" a 3-month payment as collateral to a Rose Hatfield in Toronto, Ontario. The loan would be direct deposited to my bank account within 2 business days. I attempted to phone Mr. Fergusen when this did not take place.
This is when I received a call from Michael Taylor in customer service. He stated that the investors insurer needed an additional $1300 in collateral, equating to 9 months of repayment of the original loan. I also wired this money, and now had spent an additional $300 in wiring fees!
Again, no money was deposited. Michael Taylor then told me that the investors "backed out" of the deal and that Howard & Clark would pursue legal action against them, and that I would hear from their attorney for a deposition. I've never heard from anyone, nor have I seen my refund which should have been deposited to my account by 3/11.
The phone number and website for Howard & Clark Financial are now nonexistent. Learned that lesson the hard way!
