NCO financial is a ripoff! I have been dealing with them for 2 years now. I paid them $100 before I realized what kind of business they really were (thanks to this web site).
I then sent NCO a letter stating I knew they were trying to rip me off and I was not going to give them any more money. I stated that if they did not stop harrassing me I would contact my lawyer.
About a month after that, I received a letter from Gold Key Credit, Inc. Stating that they had bought my account from NCO. I blew it off and thought nothing of it.
Well, a week after receiving that letter, I get a phone call from "Pedro". Pedro told me that I owed the original amount. I told him that NCO is a scam that I am paying the dept off to the company that services were rendered from (local hospital), and he told me that he did not know where I got my information from, but I was misinformed.
The conversation went on and he became rude and continued to raise his voice. I finally had to tell him to shut up and listen to me, which he did not do. I hung up the phone.
Two seconds later, he called back. My husband who is a deputy sheriff answered and told Pedro that he wanted to speak to his supervisor. Pedro said no. Pedro said that he would give my husband a phone number so I could call him back. My husband told him that I would not be returning his phone call. Pedro insisted that he speak to me (to no avail); my husband had to finally tell Pedro to contact our lawyer because he was harrassing me.
My husband then called the toll free number to speak with a supervisor. He was told that the supervisor has a call back list and we would be put on that list within the next 24-48 hours. My husband told her that we are not giving them any money until we find out who we owe. After reading the letter from Gold Key Credit, I realized that Gold Key and NCO are the same company, as stated on the back of each letter. I am tired of dealing with them. Any advice?
