After years of deceptive practices by Providian we have finally paid them off in full. We had closed our account almost two years ago because they were trying to raise the interest rate again.
They had my interest rate to almost 24 percent and that was with us never paying late or missing a payment.
This company hooks you in with lies and tells you at first that if you make your payments on time for a year they will lower your interest rate, it don't happen.
What they do, is raise your credit limit and then raise your interest rate, to where it is almost impossible to ever get it paid off.
Thank God, I am done with them and I would highly recomend to anyone listening, to never ever except a offer of a credit card from them. I don't care if you can't get one from anyone else. They will suck you dry and leave you with nothing. This is coming from someone, who was never late or had never missed a payment.
Find a way to get out of there clutch before its to late.
I want our Government to start looking into companys like this and I will do all in my power to see that happens.
I hope all Consumers start, fighting back till this kind of thievery stops.
