Hello. I would like to make a comment concerning CAMCO and would appreciate any advice.in July '84 I relocated my family from Jacksonville Fla to North Carolina.
At that time I was responsible for a car loan from Barnett Bank in Jacksonville. My employment attempts did not go as well as anticipated and as a result the vehicle was repossessed.
I accepted the consequences of my default and suffered with this black mark on my credit history for approximately eight years until it was finally cleared.
In the fall of '95 I was in a position to purchase another vehicle and applied for a loan of approx $10,000. This loan was granted by the same Barnett Bank. This loan was paid in full according to all agreements set forth and a clear title was issued.
About two months ago I received a phone call from an unidentified source attempting to collect monies from the repossession almost 20 years earlier. I ignored the claims of the caller and had not heard any more.
This week I have received a letter from CAMCO stating I owe approx $3800. This is ridiculous having to deal with a situation 20 years old. Especially concerning a loan from a bank that issued me a loan years later. It does not seem unreasonable for me to think the bank would never have granted a new loan in '95 had any balance been owed.
