Yes, I had to file bankruptcy 3 years ago. I started to rebuild my credit by applying for and getting a card through HSBC. I soon found out you cannot make your payment the day it is due or you would have to pay an additional $12.98 because for some reason, this LARGE bank is incapable of processing payments immediate. Funny how other larg corporations can but HSBC cannot. God forbid your payment was due on a weekend because once again, this large conglomerate is incapable of processing payments on the weekend. Why? Everyone else does. Ok, so I made a mental note to always pay 3 days in advance. I get all of my statements via email, I am trying to save a tree... I made the mistake of not paying attention for 7 months and did not notice a special fee was being added to my statement every month, yes I know, my fault. I called about this special fee, it was a protection plan I supposedly signed up for when I filled out the application online. Not. I have a savings account and don't need anyone's assistance if I lose my income. I called requested the protection plan be cancelled. Per the first rep I spoke with I signed up for the protection plan in February 09, the rep could not produce a signed document nor an internet (signed) document or a voicelog indicating I wanted this additional coverage. How convenient. There was no innovation on their part, no proactive offer to credit anything. I wasn't asking for the credits all the way back to February as I was the idiot who did not pay attention but come one, give me a small bone. Ok, so it was cancelled per the rep in India... Oh yeah, call centers in the US. Or at least they cannot transfer you to one or provide you with a local phone number for one. So the next month I am proactive and look over my statement, mother trucker! There it is again. I call that effing department again and again I demand it be cancelled and now I want it credited back to my account. No go on the credit but it has been cancelled for sure this time! After this I am pissed call back to the regular customer service line and close the account. Guess what folks, I go to pay my bill this morning and the effing charge is ON MY STATEMENT AGAIN. Of course this phone call was not pleasant and was filled with four letter words and nasty comments about Hindi's and their ancestors. Oddly enough I am given a CANCELLATION NUMBER THIS TIME... Gosh, I didn't receive that information the last two times I called, sounds a little to convenient to me. I requested to be transferred to a rep in the US, this rep finally admits there are no call centers in the US. HSBC IS UN-AMERICAN! In these turbulent times any company who completely out-sources all of its workforce to a company outside of the US should not be permitted to do business in the US. Shame on you HSBC and I am still waiting for a reply to all of my emails I sent to your customer service department, the first of which was sent 3 months ago. You have created a terrorist and I will tell everyone I know to NEVER do business with you all locally or internationally. I did not use the work terrorist in a threatening manner so don't read anything into, my terror will strictly be verbal.
