I received a telephone call last night from my neighbor who informed me that a "Miss Linwood" from UBC called her looking for me. My neighbor, who I barely speak with, was very unsettled by the call. My neighbor and her husband are older and both have health issues. This call was very disturbing for her. I was outraged that this woman had the nerve to try to do this. I have researched UCB and their tactics are certainly inappropriate at times as reported by many other consumers. I would like something to be done about this and I would like this woman to be chastised for her conduct. She may have an issue with me but she has no right to attempt to locate me by contacting outside parties.in addition, I have attempted to work out a payment arrangement with UCB and they are unwilling to work with me according to my ability to pay. I think that they prefer to use fear tactics rather than legitimate negotiations. I know that they work on commission, but being unreasonable won't get them what they want. I intend to refuse to speak with her in the future and will attempt to work out some kind of payment arrangement directly with the credit card company.
