I received a letter from Franklin First for a mortgage refinance. I spoke to Terrance Kenny who said he could qualify me for a refinance. He asked me to pay down one of my credit cards to improve my credit score. I borrowed about $4500 from my son's college fund to do this, I specifically asked Terrance if I would get the money back and he said yes. About a week later I was told there was a problem with my credit because I had charged about $100.00. I was never told not to use them. I was told to call the credit company that they used so see what I could to. I called New Beginnings and was told that I had to spend $50 for a credit report, this report told me that I had to pay off my other credit cards which I could not afford. I called Terrance and he put my file in for a special exception. After waitinf almost two weeks for a answer I was denied because of paint damage on my house. Because this was a FHA loan I had to pay $450.00 for a apprasial. Nothing was ever explained to me that if my house didnt pass the FHA guidlines I would get the loan. Now I am out about $5000.00 for all the fees and credit card that I had to pay. I believe they misrepresentated themselves but not giving me all the right information. I believe was taken advantage not to mention this took place over 6 weeks. I dont want this to happen to anyone else.
