See below email I sent to my people warning them about this scam.
Morning All:
I just wanted to remind you that there are people/businesses perpetrating major scams out there as to small business government loans.in these days when small businesses are trying to find ways to manage their bills and recuperate from the down economy, it easy for small business owners to fall prey to these scams.
The one I ran across personally was a company by the name of Business Development Professionals. I received several calls from them as well as a fax. The second call I received was from David Kenets (sp?), the Manager of Business Development Professionals (702-727-6282), 4545 Spring Mountain Rd., Ste. 105, Las Vegas, NV 89102. (Note that it is very difficult to file an interstate suit especially with the laws protecting Nevada companies.) Mr. Kenets advised they could definitely get me a government loan for my Company for 2.9% up to 6.9% depending upon my information (and thats not on top of prime). Mr. Kenets was sure I would qualify (without any of my information) for the 2.9% rate. These rates should automatically make one suspect of a scam since it is a fraction of normal government loans. Of course, I never gave him any of my information. I finally got out of him the scam hook. For the (bargain) price of $2997 payable to their company in advance, I could become a member of their company and they would get me in compliance with the credit bureaus/agencies in order to get low interest government loan. I kept the guy talking until I got him to cough up the up front money actual scam. At that point, I hung up on him.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, it is illegal for a company to take money from you in this fashion to obtain a loan. Additionally, there is never a necessity to pay money to become a member of any Company to get government or business loans.
Obviously, this is one of the major scams and I thought youd want to know about it. Ive already reported them to the Small Business Development Corp (SBDC) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) in Miami. They suggest that we pass the word around to our clients and quickly put a stop to these frauds. I pity the people from small businesses who are going to be taken in by Companies such as these. Please remember to pass the word around to your associates and clients.
