I recently started with BB&T with my new job was told it was an excellent company to bank with... Uh no. I've had more problems with this bank and their excuses than any other institution that can be named. They tend to lay the blame on you or to another in the company. Continue to read the fine print to you like it was the constitution.
I bounced some checks in the beginning b/c of my own unintelligence an not having an acct foe 7 yrs. Things have changed since I'd had one. Ok... But here recently they have shown their true colors.in the last month I've noticed that they continue to tell me that they can put my transactions in as they wish. Hi to low... Low to hi... Its THEIR decision... When before I had been told that it goes as it comes in. Well... With BB&T be aware. My most recent interaction is having me to totally sever ties with this bank. I deposited thru direct deposit which btw they put on hold and deposited my husbands lg check on Friday which they also put a hold on. I wrote 4 checks Thrus afternoon. They normally do not process until monday b/c banks tell you they dont do any processing on saturday right... Right. Today is Saturday and Im officially 100$ in the hole b/c they decided to process today... The only Sat. Since I've been with them. Not only am I horrified at what they did but how they managed to do so. They held my deposits on hold while processing the 4 checks first even thou my money was in the bank *on hold* and bounced it all. Then had the nerve to read me their policy over the phone insisting they can do as they wish... Again. So anyone attempting to think of using BB&T... Think hard... You WILL get charged 2.00 for every customer service phone call you make where you talk to a rep... Every time you call. You WILL get charged if you use their ATMS plus the fee if its not theirs. You WILL get the brush off every time their is a dispute and I mean with complete Bank Lingo. Even when your math doesnt add up to theirs and you have READ the policies that they think is monopoly money instructions and they are holding the bank and playing around the rules like a 7 yr old who thinks he can. So just think hard and long before opening an acct with these scammers. They are out for money and its for them not the customer
