My son (who is 19) was contacted early in the morning on July 24 by a James White from the FCD stating that he owed $800 and if he didn't pay immediately, they would be issuing 3 felony warrants for his arrest. He could settle this now by giving them a credit card and paying the $800 or he could go to jail and pay over $6000 and try to fight it. My son called me very upset saying he didn't know what this was about and that he needed the money transferred into his account ASAP. As he was not making sense as to what was going on I got the phone number from him and the contact information and called them directly myself. I reached a woman with a very heavy indian accent who would not transfer me to James White demanded who I was and would not answer my inquiry as to the name and address of their company. After spending over 5 minutes trying to get this information, she finally gave me a name and became very boligerant. I hung up and called back expecting to get another employee which I did. The gentleman also had a very heavy indian accent and demanded to know who he was talking to. I finally got him to give me the name of the company which was different from the name that the first lady had given me. At this point I told him that this was a scam and that my son and I were going to the police. He immediately hung up one me. At this point, the calls to my son ceased (they had called him 5 more times which he didn't answer and they left messages on his voicemail. I have contacted the secret service which investigates these type of crimes as they had my son's personal information SSN, DOB, drivers license.
