Grant Masters
Google Free Kit online is a SCAM

In May I was online and there was an article on my Road Runner home page about legitimate grants you could receive to make money at home. I clicked on it, read the article out of some newspaper in the US and was sure if the writer did his research and found that it was legitimate, then it must be. So I went to the google free kit link and from there, for only $1.97 shipping, I could get the kit and start making a lot of money at home. Great for me, a stay-at-home mom of two. Well, I was stupid and gave my bank credit card number. I was charged $1.97 for this. However, on June 30, I received an overdraft notice from my bank in the amount of $38.34 on 6/25/09 and $25.00 for the bank overdraft fee. Funny enough, I knew I had not gone anywhere those days or purchased anything online or by telephone. Also, I never use this account credit card, except in the instance of this particular purchase because I knew I had very little funds in the account to begin with. On 7/1/09, I called my bank to access information on my account, only to find that another charge in the amount of $72.21 on 6/26/09 and $25.00 bank fee again! So, I spoke to a bank representative and they provided me with the names and telephone numbers of the companies who charged my account. I called the Grant Masters number, get a woman who can barely speak English, she tells me the $38.34 is my membership fee. I told her I was not aware there was any membership fee for this because when I initially filled out the online form, it specified a one time charge of $1.97. She told me I need to go online to [email protected] to get my refund and in the subject line, I have to type RR609-refund for (my first & last names) and attach a copy of my statement showing the charges. All of this for a $38 charge! Well it gets worse. I attempt to go online to this e-mail address, unable to find page! Go figure. I googled grantmasters and find several links for complaints against this company both through usacomplaints. Coms and the Complaints Board. As far as the other charge of $72.21 from Power something, I called that 877 number only to get a constant busy signal. So here I am, I have stopped any new debits on my bank card number and now have to go to my bank and fill out separate reports for both of these unauthorized charges and hope that I can get the charges wiped off my account and get credited for the overdraft fees. Crazy, but true. I should've known better and am feeling so stupid right now!
