I can definitely relate to all of you who have been through this nightmare with these companies! On June 22, my account was debited for $33.98. I keep a very close watch on my account and therefore, I was very suspicious. I called my bank and they gave me the telephone number to call. As all of you did, I called the number, cancelled my membership to the ID Theft Protection which they said I signed up for and then applied for a refund through the website they gave me on the phone. I was denied the refund.
Then, on June 30, my account was debited again and this time it was for $17.97. I immediately called my bank and they gave me the phone number listed with the transaction. I called the number and it was for Payday Loan Resource Center. Obviously, I cancelled this membership as well and made certain that they gave me a cancellation number in case this charge showed up again in the future.
How in the world are they continuing to get by with this? Isn't there some way that they can be shut down? This is ridiculous! We have so many other things to think about and worry about in life without being ripped off by these companies.
I hope all goes well for the rest of you out there who are experiencing the same things! Hopefully, one day they will be found out and punished for their crime - and, if not in this life, for sure in the next!
