Scam, harrassing phone calls

I have also started receiving these phone calls but I kept missing the call and they left voicemail messages which said:

'This message is intended for (my first name and last name). (first name) the reason you receive this message I need you or your attorney of record to return the call. If you are here this is extremely time time sensitive. My name is Dean? And the hotline to my division is 213-805-0295 I repeat it's 213-805-0295. Please don't disregard this message and to return the call. Now, if you don't return and I don't hear from your attorney either the only thing I can do is wish you good luck.'

Now of course I would have been scared if I hadn't already read about them here. They have been calling my cell and they actually had nerve enough to call me at work and leave a message saying that he was returning my call... Not true.

When I got home I did research on this because I didn't have any idea who or what they were. I found online that many people had been called by this person or this company of alleged lawyers in regards to lawsuits and affidavits.

And yes I have had payday loans before but have paid them all off in full as far as I am aware of. You'd think I would get a letter or notice before I get these kind of calls.
Today, they keep calling and there have been about 6 or more phone calls today including messages. They are calling from a number with only 9 digits which are 810-676-161 which if you dial it back it does not go through.

I have started answering the phone and hanging up on them and they had called me about 4 or 5 times in a row a minute or two apart before I started the hanging up. I then changed my voicemail message to say that I knew they were a scam/ripoff and that I know I owe them nothing and that all my credit issues have been take care of and are being paid out of my paycheck. I also informed them that I would be alerting my bank and anyone else that needed to know and that my husband was a Police officer and if they did not stop calling me that I would call the authorities.

The phone calls start early in the morning continue till about 7 or 8pm
I also assume they obtained my information when I applied for a payday loan.

I do not think it is legitimate. I don't know anything or can't find anything to tell me where they are from or any website or anything like that. Also, there are enough reports being file on this and all sound the same as far as the phone calls and messages being left.

I have always had credit issues so I know this is not a collections department. And I agree lawsuits do not come out of owing a bill. Collections departments do and you receive the notices in the mail.

I'm not sure what to do next except notify my bank. I only hope we can find a way to stop them from doing this to other people.
