I was contacted by FIRE representative to help me eliminate my debt. They explained the program and I stated that I was unable to afford paying their fees up front and needed help paying my debt. They insisted and promised that my fees would be distributed over the entire life of the program. They also made claims that they wouldbe in immediate contact with my creditors.
Three months later and after several calls to them, they never adjusted the program as their Sales rep promised to meet my needs. I also had a friend contact them and they were promised several things that were not true either. They promised her that she wouldn't have to make payments to them for six months. I was told by one of their reps that all I had to do to cancel was write a letter and request a refund and I would likely be refunded since I was early in the program and since none of my creditors had been contacted yet.
I received a threatening call from one of their supervisors, saying that they would take me to court and that I could not drop out of the program.
I wrote my letter and did what I was instructed by FIRE to do and request a refund. I received notice from a VP named Garry D. Smith, Jr. Wich denied my refund based on a contract that I never received from them and was unable to retrieve from their web site at any time.
I know that they are in breach of contract since they never did anything that they had promised or is stated on their website in writing. It is unfortunate that this company is allowed to prey on individuals and not be held by their contract.
They know that they are in breach of contract, yet they refuse refunds. Unfortunately, instead of helping people get out of debt, they put people in more direr straits, with their lies, unethical behavior, deceit, and exorbitant fees. I hope this report does something to help all of those that have been lied to and used by this predatory company who only take care of their wallets and have no intent of helping as they advertise.
