I recieved a letter in the mail saying I had won $850,000 in R.D. Lotto and also a check written out to me, address and all on the check. Nexans, I pulled that up and got an address. It appeared legal. (diversified wire and cable manufacturer) What that had to do with R.D.???
I was informed in the letter to call the number listed before I cashed the check. Karen Wright ans. And I could hear several? Rings in the backgound. She then said I could cash the check but it may take 2 -11 days for it to clear. I cashed it out for cash no problem. Then I was to call her back.
I called her back Fri. April 24th. She said I'll call you back in 1 to 2 hours She called back later, and informed me I would have to pay an insurance Co.$2,510.83 I could send it thru Walmart Money Gram. Then call her back when I had sent the money gram, via Walmart, to Robert Sweeny. 1854 e. Hampton, N Vancouver, Ca. V83e7. She would put our package to be delivered in am. She said Ca. Deals with Walmart not western union.
Before we left for Walmart I called up R. D "without prejudice" and found the scam. Now we have in cash $2850. What are we liable for.??? Jan
