If you thinking of buying petcare insurance for your beloved pets, do yourself a favor: 1) deal only with local businesses near you that have a valid, real and pyhsical address (no P.O. Box or Suite #), 2) licensed and certified, 3) does business in your own state, 4) never buy pet insurance online with only credit card or debit card methods of payment. Because when you cancel your recurring pre-authorized payment (s) may continue for awhile.
Just imagine how much additional revenue for Petcare Pet Insurance Programs to extract from their unsatisfied customers when they cancel and debit their bank accounts & credit cards for an additional monthly fee after the cancellation date. ($28.95 per month X 1500 (just to be modest) customers' cancellations = $43,425 monthly or $521,100 annually.) That's over a half million dollars of additional monies scammed from customers that want nothing to do with these crooks!
In January, my border terrier received veterinarian treatments for her illnesses. I paid the vet's bill, filled out the Petcare Pet Insurance Programs Claim Forms and had my veterinarian complete and sign it. I made copies of the claim forms and vet bills (for my records) and mailed the original claim forms and vet bills to PetCare as instructed.
A month or so later I received a letter from PetCare. I assumed it was payment regarding the insurance claims claims I submitted to them. But instead it was letter stating that my claims were denied because my insurance policy does not cover these claims. I checked my pet's policy and found that Petcare Pet Insurance Programs was mistaken and they lied about the coverage.
I became further fustrated when trying to contact them, when the phone would continue to ring unanswered, repeated menu recordings and holds or numerous busy signals. When I finally connected with a live operator I was always placed on hold and my calls redirected and disconnected. I couldn't get through to PetCare Insurance to resolve this situation, but yet they had no problems debiting my credit card for payment every month on time.
On 04/16/09 I spoke to Rick at PetCare Pet Insurance Programs and told him I was cancelling my pet insurance with them. Rick was polite at first until he asked me why I was cancelling. When I told him, he informed that the reason my claim was denied was because my pet's insurance plan doesn't cover the illnesses my pet was diagnosed for. But in fact it does include these coverage and more.
Rick processed my cancellation and corfirmed by giving me my confirmation cancellation number - 0416RM09. (Hmmm... Is this a coinincidence that my cancellation number is the same as the cancellation date and is RM actually Rick's initials?) Rick informed me that my cancellation will be immediate and I will not be billed anymore after 05/17/09. Whoa! Whoa! Wait a Minute!
I said are you telling me that you're going to debit my account on 04/18/09 anyway after my cancellation today. Rick said yes because the electronic transfer has already occurred. I told him my account isn't debited until the 18th of every month and today is only the 16th. Therefore don't debit my account. While talking to him, I went online with my bank and confirm that he was lying. I informed him and he replied that there's nothing he can do to stop it in time.
I asked to speak to his supervisor, he stated his supervisor is in a meeting and do not wish to be disturbed. Can You Believe That!? I asked to speak to someone else above him or another supervisor and "believe it or not" he hung up the phone! Each time I called back the phone was busy! Now I am Ticked Off!
PetCare Pet Insurance Programs is no more than a "Corrupt, Vicious/Scamming Criminal Intent Intity. Do not do business with this company or it's corporate affiliates or parent company (ies). They're wolves in sheeps clothing! Tell your friends and others to avoid them! PetCare Insurance is no insurance at all!
On 04/16/09 I've notified my bank and informed them of this fraudelant company (PetCare Pet Insurance Programs) and gave them notification of my cancellation of pet insurance coverage with them This company does not honor their obligations to their loyal and respective customers. They should be investigated, sued and made to make compensational resittution to all their current & dis-satisfied former customers.
