Imagine my surprise when I received a letter from Fairbanks stating my homeowner's insurance had expired OR I had cancelled it. News to me since I had just sent my quarterly payment to my insurance company several weeks before.
Also news to my insurance agent when I telephoned him to see what he could make of this letter. The letter, of course, was dated the day AFTER my insurance was supposedly cancelled and I received it ELEVEN days later.
How typical of Fairbanks.
I'm also a victim of their 18-20 days late payment coupon scam.
Anyway, this letter states that an insurance policy will be taken out regardless of whether or not I have homeowner's insurance. And this even after I have proven to them that I do indeed have insurance. And all at my cost, of course!
This is the worst mortgage company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Everything connected to them seems, to me anyway, to have a whiff of scam and underhandedness about it. My recommendation would be to flee to any mortgage company or bank/credit union that will take you. Fast...
