I want to say I can not wait to get away from Fifth Third Bank - it has been a slow process for me with not being able to afford overdraft fees, needing to make an actual living by paying bills and buying food - I go to pay off what I owe Saturday and they end up feeing MORE money and are charging me over $1,000!!! I feel so raped from my hard earned money. Every time I think I'm going to finally be settled and 'ok' finacially it is Fifth Third Bank that strips me more and more away from that reality. (I DO HAVE THE DOCUMENTS TO PROVE IT)
If you are not making a huge income and never have to live pay check to pay check... Or sometimes miss-calculate what is in your checking accout... Seriously, STAY AWAY from Fifth Third Bank!!! (The only people I have heard that 'do' like them... Are very well off finacially) I have never felt so vulnerable and robbed in my whole life! It literally makes my stomach ill to think about how much they have taken from me and how much better off I could be if I never signed up with that bank to begin with. Anytime you try to figure out a solution with them - they do not 'help' instead they give you more 'tricky' solutions to work with that end up screwing you over later - trust me, I have tried and tried to give this bank second and third chances just so I wouldn't have to worry about switching all my checking stuff over to another bank, but it only screwed me over more than anything. They will drain you from every penny you have if you make the least bit of a mistake or miss-calculation - they thrive off of it - it's like they do rob from the poor and give to the rich to get richer.
One thing they always say is 'All Banks are like that...'
After all this I have googled so many different banks and find so many DO get some of the same complaints - BUT I have also found from google and such that Fifth Third Bank has some of the most complaints out there - and lawsuits against them -
I have a found local bank, that I couldn't find these kind of complaints on, and plan to go there this week. This is really pathetic and sad though - those of us who are struggling everyday to live and try to better ourselves finacially can not rely on one place, it is suppose to be safe, to keep your money.instead while it is there, we have to make sure we watch our own backs from the bank. Yet, we need the bank to be able to establish credit through our checking, pay bills and buy things online.
I read that many people want to start a class action lawsuit but none have done so that I can find - yet. If someone is brave enough to take lead of this I know you will have many supporters and I will definately be one of them. Really, we do need to do something. I wish I was feerless enough to move forward - but I am just too submissive, prob why I was stepped on by Fifth Third for way too long.
Lesson being - research ALL the banks first you plan to go to - Because, as I have found, Banks aren't in business to keep your money safe and help you grow... But to take what money of yours they can and help themselves to grow. To some this may have always been obvious - but I, have only now removed the rose-color glasses to see most Banks for what they are. Fifth Third Bank definately fits in with these groups of thieves.
