The link to the grantmyoffer.com website was on our local news website, so I honestly thought it was a real site, not a phony scam. I gave all necessary information to receive my free grant cd and we called the following day to verify all information before being sent the cd. I was told there wouldn't be any additional charges, had no idea I was going to be charged some membership fee.
I received my cd and knew right away after viewing it that it was a scam. Nowhere on the cd did it tell you where to apply for a grant. I didn't think anything more of it until I was charged a fee of $98.04 this weekend, as were 3 other people I work with that sent for it as well.
I called the 888 # that was listed on the transacation in my bank account and they gave me a cancellation # and told me to call back in 48 hours, which I will tomorrow. One of the people at work already called and they gave him another cancellation # and told him it'd take 3-5 days for the money to get reimbursed. We will see if the money is returned.
There was nowhere on their website that told about any fee being charged, and I have no clue what the membership is even for.
