Substantially increased finance charge percent

I missed my monthly payment (first time ever) by 24 hours. My finance % went from 9.99 to 22.49. When I contacted customer service and spoke to a supervisor, he said to call back after 1/24/09. At that time because I was such a good customer they would revert back to 9.99%. I called and they refused to do anything.
