I have been contacted by extremely unprofessional and rude people from Pentagroup Collectin Angency/Collect America since September.
They called and harrassed me, my mother-in-law, and my employer. I requested they take off the phone numbers for my mother-in-law and my employer and to only contact me at my personal phone number.
Two months later in February they called every number.
The last woman I spoke to, last name I believe is Jason was extremely pushy and overbearing. She would not even let me speak.
She said I owed $2600.00 for a debt they bought from Alliance Cross Sale. I have never heard of this company nor have I done business with them.
She then stated at 12:00 noon today 2-27 that her company Collect America would start sueing me for the debt. She state the attorneys fees would be another $4800.00.
I told her I had requested information on the debt in writing back in September and requested it everytime someone called. They information had been sent out, and they have my correct address, but I never recieved it. Some of the agents said they would not send the information in writing. That I should just believe what they were telling me.
I told them that I could not pay for something that I was not for sure was my debt and that I would not give them information over the phone.
She said it was completely safe. She said our call was recorded. That I would not be charged a check fee. That it would not go to the bank until I received a confirmation letter in the mail.
Then she told me she spoke to my mother-in-law, Carol Bench and that she was a very sweet lady and that they had a very nice conversation. I told her that it was against the law to talk to other people about debts. She stated "hold on young lady dont you dare make assumptions about what we talked about." "We didnt even talk about you."
I became upset and said, "Send the information to me at my address that you have on file then we can discuss the matter after I have reviewed it." She stated I cant do that. I said then I guess you will have to sue me. She stated "Your wish is my command." "We will start the suit at 12:00 noon today."
I am beside myself with what to do. She even told me if I paid her off that my credit score would go up 150 points with every consumer credit reporting agency.
What can I do? Please help me? I will loose my job if they don't stop calling me at work and in this economy I will be hard pressed to find another job.
