If it sounds to good to be true... It is.
I received this unsolicited letter from one Mr. Rod Tinsley at rt0501 (at) hotmail (dot) com:
"This is how I can get you 100% funding, NO FICO, NO DOC and closing in 10- 90 days"
Then he lists 20 some company types (not by name) that he's help fund over the course of a year for various amounts, then follows with:
"Tinsley, Inc arranges Senior and Sub-debt financing for companies who cannot obtain adequate bank financing.
We are a Colorado based financial consulting company. We have several hundred non-traditional money sources that are specifically geared to fund troubled or growing companies. These are generally non-bank lenders that provide financing to companies who CANNOT obtain adequate capital to further develop or maintain their business."
"I'm honest and trustworthy. I do what I say I'm going to do. I could also use a few more referrals but life is good. I get all my business from, word of mouth, referrals and repeat business. I deliver what I promise. I solve problems. I'm just good... I give 1000%, committed to constant never ending improvement, hold myself to a higher standard and a good Sherlock Holmes...
Top qualities: Personable, On Time, High Integrity "
Then a grouping of first name only "testimonials" to his extraordinary business skill and how he, "treats his business partners with great dignity and respect."
Followed by an address attached to a business not registered as a business in Colorado and a completely different e-mail address.
So, in attention to the due diligence to the security of my businesses funds I responded with:
Thank you for the offer.
Here are our terms. We will provide NO upfront fees for fund finding or lending opportunities with out one of the two items below. We have a pre-set finders fee percentage agreement. We have our own lawyers and accounting services and will provide no cash for legal services not certified by the state in which they operate. We require references from known and reputable companies before any monies are paid or We require a written and stamped letter of authenticity from a lawyer registered in the state he/she is licensed before any monies are paid.
So in full... No monies will be paid to any source for any reason without some proof of legal activity.
