Last Friday i went to the US Banks branch in the Albertsons supermarket when I found out my debit card failed to pay out on a small purchase at another supermarket.
It seems that U S Bank has been charging me with overdraft charges for more than 2 weeks. The card payed out at other stores even with a negative balance. According to my computer print out, I've only used about $45.00 worth of purchases on their money. However as of last Friday the total charges is up to $270.00.
According to the dictionary, the definition of extortion is " gross overcharges".
The bank manager and I had a flare up and I said something that was not meant, and not directed at him. When he said that the account could be turned over to a collection agency is when I got verbal.
He called the police and 3 cops came and searched me for weapons and let me go when everything checked out with my I.D. And story.
I have tried to get the bank to get back to me concerning some sort of rectification to this issue. So far I haven't heard from them except the letter from them about a repayment schedule.
If they think I'm going to pay extortion money, they don't know me. I think capitalism is out of control in this country and needs to be reined in.
I feel this is a total rip off of their customers. According to the Bible, " the love of money is the root of all evil". This represents predatory capitalism
as far as I'm concerned.
They will close the account themselves on Feb 12 th.By then their daily $8.00 charge will take the total to a new height. I don't need this bank for anything.
I plan on calling the State Attorney generals office. Knowing this countries allegiances I don't hold out much hope from the AG.
I am 64 years old and retired.
