Veritus Funding is a crooked corporation. I concur with the statements previously given by others.
A veritus agent came to my door on Dec 19th and presented a home re-finance package that was fantastic! It took him quite a while to get it together and I just figured he was very new to this job. We set a date for another meeting on Dec 21st.
We met and began signing the standard papers. After he left we went over the numbers on the good faith estimate and found discrepancies. I had a difficult time convincing him of the mathematical error but finally did. The following day he brought over a corrected good faith estimate. It too had errors.By this time I was suspicious and began researching Veritus Funding.
I contacted Wells Fargo (my bank), and gave them the details of the pending contract. They told me what was being attempted was legally impossible on my VA loan and gave me the references. I told them to "flag" the name Veritus Funding and honor no business with them in any of my accounts.
I contacted my other bank via web and ordered a stop payment on a large check I had written them. I called the Veritus agent and told him all business is cancelled between us. The guy apologized for his shortcomings and said all processing will stop. That all took place before Christmas. On January 7th, they tried to cash the check. I got away with only a $20.00 stop payment fee. You may not be so lucky. Do not do business with veritus funding.
