To avoid a late fee, I sent in a payment early for December because we would be out of town and I would not be here to mail it in. Much to my surprise that they credited the Dec. Payment with the Nov. Payment to November. When I phone the co. I was told by the girl answering the phone and her supervisor that it was too bad and they could not adjust it because of the "closing dates." They refused to adjust the payments. I have no choice but to pay off the credit card and close the account to avoid a bad credit rating and more problems.
This is not the first time I have had problems with this company; however, in the past once I wrote a letter to the company and their cooler heads did the right thing. The last time was a balance transfer that was suppose to cost $35.00 and was incorrectly calculated at a % that made it a charge of over $300.00. That time the person that answered the phone told me that although that is what the offer said that was mailed to me, "Chase reserved the right to change it without notice." They refused to adjust it! What? So, I mailed in a letter and it was taken care of and adjusted.
Here we are again... I will contact the authorities to make sure this action is legal, as well as the BBB, and our new watchdog groups that are advising our new administration on how credit card companies apply payments will hear from me. Please be warned... Do not carry a balance with chase credit cards. They always try to trap you. I can take care of this but I have fear for our young generation becoming enslaved by credit card debts that are unethical at its best and evil at its worst. Thank Goodness most of these tricks by the credit cards will soon be illegal. Secret Sisters boycott all Chase Products!
