Mr. Wilson from Amerisave stated we could get a 4.55% refinance rate, 30 year fixed. We completed the mountain of paperwork and faxed it back. He told me I had a lock on the rate. The next day he tells me it raised to 4.69% and instead of paying 10 grand to refinance it went up to over 11 grand. Then the "appraiser" tells me my home is worth 220,000 dollars. I have a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath, two year old home on. 25 fenced acre backing to woods. Not to mention a $40,000 finished in law suite in the basement and $20,000 worth of custom stamped concrete work all around the outside of the home. A large deck is also on the back. The TOWNHOUSE down the street is selling for 219,000. Our town assessed our home at $360,000 last year (what we bought it for two years ago). I think the Amerisave people are just trying to get their $350 sucker by sucker. It's unreal.
