Two and one half years ago I signed up with United Bank Card for a merchant account. I had to sign a 3 year contract. It was supposed to be $7.00 per month.
They immediately got my merchant account name wrong. For a whole year I went round and round (literally) from person to person. I was always assured the information would be corrected.
Each month I received a bill, still with the error in my merchant name. Each month I would go through the process of trying to get it fixed, and each time I was assured it would be. I gave up trying at the end of that first year, when I realized they had no interest in doing anything about it.
E-mails were never replied to, faxes were never confirmed and phone calls assured me they had not received any information needed to correct it, but they would get right on it.
And what about that initial fee of $7.00? It increased every month and the last statement I got was for $79.00.in all the fees they have charged me for using their service, I have yet to be able to use it because the account is under a different name than that of my business. The good news is that I will be out from under this in about 5 months.
