While looking at my bank account statement on-line, I found that I had a charge to a company called Betamax voIP Credit FTM Colonge. At first, I thought that someone had used my card to purchase colonge/after shave because it being the Christmas time of the year, but as soon as I went to Google and entered their company name as it appeared on my electronic bank statement, there were many, many complaints of just what happened to me. People stating that they had never heard of this company and had unauthorized charges on their bank accounts just like I did. I have since had my card cancelled and filed a dispute through my bank.
Something really needs to be done about this company if there are THAT many unauthorized charges being made to the company! As another person stated, it really is not all that much anywhere from $15-$25, however, multiple that by the number of times it occurs throughout the world and they could be making millions of dollars this way!
At the same time, I found that in the past 4 days, another company called CC Bill.com had debited my account 4 different times for $100.00 each. The nbumber that they listed on my statement was not a valid number, but I went to Google again and found their contact information. I was told that "their fraud department became suspicious about these charges and has proceeded to get them reveresed although it could take as long as 10-14 days" Apparently, it would seem as though SOMEONE has sold my card number to one or more people. The person that got me for $400 was buying poker chips on-line! So now, with a few days until Christmas, my three children and going to suffer because some stupid, criminals have went into my account that I work so hard for and stolen money from me!
It would appear that all charges should be credited eventually, however, not in time for Christmas. Betamax, though apparently does not care to stop this as you cannot contact anyone at their website unless you are media (they will throw your e-mail away if not media oriented).
I will keep this site posted as to the outcome.
