In a recent review of my credit bureau file with Experian (12/4), I noticed derogatory information being reported. Absent no notification from this agency, the information just 'appeared' on my report. As a confirmed victim of identity theft, I closely monitor my report for any and all suspicious activity. Further, there is no doubt that they are in direct violation of the FDCPA! What happened to my rights as a consumer to challenge said information prior to collection action being initiated? Subsequently, I have filed the appropriate complaints with the BBB, FTC, CA AG, and this site.interestingly, the complaints are enormous against this entity. Purportedly, they are attempting to collect for a credit card company that I have never had dealings with! As a holder of a government security clearance, it is imperative that this information be corrected ASAP! What can be done about companies such as this willfully, purposely, and maliciously impeding our rights as consumers to challenge said information?
