Salute recently raised my limit at the same time as they charged their yearly membership fee. Only three months later they sent a letter stating that my charging priveledges would be terminated.
I have made every single payment on time and have always paid above my minimum due. I called to find out what had happened, only to be told that Salute will no longer be in the credit card charge market.
I than asked them if this was going to damage my credit. They told me that all my payments would continue to be reported but I would have to take this up with those services on how they would rate my de-activation of charge priviledges.
I further stated my concern for the monthly account maintenence fee that I am being charged on top of my rediculous APR if I can no longer charge. They stated this was an administration fee to maintain the account. My question was "where's the maintenance if I can't use the card?" I also asked about my yearly membership fee and got run-around answers.
I don't want their card anyway. I have been paying it down because of these practices. But, this has got to be some sort of fraud. Any help out there on this?
