I had used the internet to find a loan that would work with bad credit. It only went from bad to worse.
I was contacted after filling out an application by Stewart Thompson at Charterstone Financial Group. He stated that they had a private lender that would finance me for the amount I was looking for. The lender had offered me 6% intrest for the term of 5 years making my payment exactly what I could afford. I would have to make a payment of $1736 upfront which would be my first 7 months payments. I read over the loan documents and everything seemed to be exactly what he had told me. I signed the paperwork and faxed it back to him. He told me that once I made the $1700 payment my loan would be deposited into my account within one business day.
The very next day I was called by a Mike stating that he was given my file and the lender had reassessed my account and was requiring an additional down payment of another $1730. I could send them the additional funds or I could get a refund of the amount I had already applied towards the loan. But that would not be refunded to me until November 19th.By that time I was obviously in above my head and really needed to get the funds back into my account. He assured me that the lender could only assess the account once. He also assured me that if I wired the addional monies needed that the money would be in my account within one business day. So I came up with the additional funds and wired them the money. Again assured the money would be in my account the next day. The next day comes and I get a call from Dale who is above Mike and Stewart telling me that the lender had backed out of my loan and I would not be getting the money into my account today. I had 2 options again one being I could get a refund of the $3500 I had already sent to them, or they had found another lender that was willing to take my account but the lowest limit they would lend was $30000, requiring more of a downpayment and a longer term to pay the funds back. I got upset like anyone in their right mind would do, and he proceeded to treat me totally disrespectfully. Then I began to wonder what I had gotten myself into. I told him to refund me the money that I had already paid into them. I start doing better research on the company and here I am. I had looked at their web site prior to trying to do business with them and it all seemed legitimate. But I guess to be a good scam artist, you kind of have to make sure everything appears to be that way.
After finding this site and the postings, I guess my only question now is, am I ever going to see my money I have already paid out to them?
For anyone else that is looking to do business with this company I would highly recommend that you stay as far away from them as possible!
