I am writing for my brother who is totally disabled and paralyzed after a stroke. Pressler & Pressler (P&P) kept calling and harrassing him about an old CitiBank MasterCard account. Even though we sent copies of insurance paperwork saying the balance was paid in full, P&P filed suit for $6,900. The beginning balance in 12 was $6,200. The card was never used again from that point. The insurance company paid the minimum payments for 3 years totalling $6,304.13. It appears that CitiBank applied the $150-$190 minimum payment made by their disability insurer each month to $60 for CreditShield insurance premium and the balance to the 31.99% interest they imposed, so that 3 years down the line, they say he owes more than the balance due from the date of disability, even though they got $6,300 in payments from the insurance! P&P filed numerous motions, i.E. Claiming failure to answer interrogatories, trying to get summary judgement, etc. Legal aid is too busy to help. It's impossible to keep up. They are scum!
