Rip-off Platinum card rusted with catalog of useless junk

I am just another individual who had hard times with credit. It was not because I did not know how to manage my funds responsibly, but it was because of situations that happened that were out of my control. I was living in Texas and I had planned to move to California. I played it smart and looked for employment to make sure I had a job by the time I got to California. I did the phone interviews and filled all the forms and hopped through all the other hoops they wanted me to jump through.

After it was all said and done, I got the job... Or so I thought. Thinking that everything was set, I packed my things and moved. I used my credit card to pay for the moving truck and all the other expenses that come with moving thinking. It'll be ok because I have a job to pay for them. I got into California, got settled and went to the office only to be told that my position was no longer needed. I begged and pleaded for some kind of position, but they just said sorry and sent me on my way.

To make a long story short, credit cards maxed and loan exhausted and no way to pay.By the time I got a good job, I was already being sued. I filed bankruptcy. I saw an opportunity to get my credit back on track and got this offer from Consumer First saying if I send them a check for $45.00 for processing, I can get a platinum card with a limit of $5000. I thought wow, this is a good start.

Three weeks later I got this catalog that had nothing of interest and a card that was not even a VISA or MC or any such reputable names. I called several times and always got an answering service. I left messages, but was ignored. It let it go for three months and suddenly I wanted to check out their website and all it asks for is the card number and password. I've never even gave it a password, but when I try to request the password, the website fails.

I then did a search in Google and saw this site and am now discovering I was suckered. I feel very stupid that I fell for this. I have always known myself to be very cautious and not naive, but this really hurt my pride. I never thought that I would be so desperate enough to do something like this. I am not entirely certain what I can do now since it has been so long since this occured. I work full-time and go to school full-time and I just left this on my table without giving it another thought until today.

All the other reports say to not let them get away with this and fight. I very much agree with this, but I need to research my options more so see what I can do. I would like some advice.
