NCO Financial
Harrasing phonecalls and deceptive City

I've hung around usacomplaints. Coms long enough to know to stay off the phone with collection agencies. I made the mistake of answering the phone today.

To give a quick history, I was laid off from my job back in 2001 pre-911. I was a product of the IT industry that started to suffer around this time. Alot of the credit that I had at the time suffered also and subsequently went into collections. Today, most if not all of these things have rolled off of my credit reports according to what I pulled up on all three of them a few weeks ago. I have two vultures still hounding me, one of them being NCO Financial.

I am angry I answered the phone, but I wanted to make it as short and sweet as possible. I didn't catch the guy's name, but he immediately told me what debt it was for and it was from 2001. I told him I was aware of it (mistake?), I was unaware to pay then and still unaware. He asks me questions such as my address and even my employer, which I told him was none of his business and was irrelevant. I also told him I didnt have my finger stuck in my butt and I know that not only that this isnt reporting anymore, but how i am outside the SOL. His reply? It only means he cant take me to court, and I should check with Florida laws on the SOL. I told him I know my rights and I'm not stupid. I also told him if I am ever able to recify anything, I will deal with the original creditor directly, to which he replied would be him. I told him WRONG and he actually laughed! I closed by saying I'm educated on my rights, he cant re-age this debt unless I make a payment and he cant re-age just because he's talking to me. I closed by saying i'm unemployed and I wont be dealing with him. He stated they will keep calling until it's satisfied and I hung up.

Steve (from Bradenton), I can use your advice here. Am I gonna see an update to my credit report behind this? What should I be prepared to do?
