I was with kemper inurance for years and then fell upon some hard times and could not aford to make my three month installment. After asking my agent if i could make my payment for a month to get us by, i was told no and that my insurance would expire on july 14 0f 2006. I went to another company to stay insured and six months later received a bill from kemper for a premium. I ignored it since we were dropped and had new insurance. Then they kept sending premium notices even after i talked with them and thought we had it straightened out.
Then the notices quit comming and a year later i get a credit collection from credit collection services for 1131.26 which would have been my six month premium. Is this just a rip off or do i need to call the state insurance inspector or something? They dropped me in writing and now want payment even though i did not have their insurance? Please help!
