July 17 I traded my vehicle in on another vehicle at a dealership I frequent in my home area. They assured me the payoff would be sent before my 30 days passed in order not to take a credit hit. I called Wachovia and notified them of what I did and they could be expecting payoff. Two weeks later a rep called me back wanting to know if I knew exactly when it was sent. I said no but gave them the finance person's information to call.
A few days later I received another call and so I went to the dealership where I was informed it was mailed on July 30th. I immediately called Wachovia back and let them know and they wanted to know exactly how it was sent (wire, overnight, reg mail, etc) I said I didn't know and they said don't worry they would call and get the info.
On Aug 6, my 30 day mark, Wachovia called to let me now that this was going to be reported on my credit because they did not receive it toay but did expect to get it 7th or 8th. I asked could they please not do a courtesy fix on the credit since they confirmed themselves the payment should be there anyday and they said nope, that was my problem. I spoke with a rep, a supv and then the office manager Nick.
Then I got online and found the phone number to the office of the president for the company and spoke with Micah. She was more concerned with how I got the number than helping me.in the end, she took the same stance, no courtesy fix. I am aware that technically I am responsible but isn't a little customer goodwill worth anything nowadays?
